Acceptable Use Policy

Volta Connect Studio

Last updated: 9 March 2026

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules governing all content and activity on Volta Connect Studio (the "Platform"), operated by Volta XR Ltd. It forms part of and is incorporated into the End User Licence Agreement. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings given in the EULA.

This AUP applies to all content you create, publish, or transmit through the Platform, including but not limited to: text entered into templates, images uploaded by you or your audience, drawings, configuration data, and any live experience output displayed to audiences at events.

Volta may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any revised AUP.

2. Content You Are Responsible For

The Platform is a creative tool that allows you to design interactive experiences for live audiences. Features that accept user-supplied input include, but are not limited to:

  • Text response and display templates;
  • Image upload templates (including audience-sourced images projected at scale);
  • Drawing and sketch input tools;
  • Custom label, caption, or title fields in any template;
  • Any template that passes user input to a live output display.

You are solely responsible for all content that passes through your experiences, whether submitted by you directly or by your audience members. It is your responsibility to design experiences that do not invite or enable prohibited content, and to be present and capable of managing your live event.

3. Prohibited Content

You must not create, upload, publish, or transmit — and must not design experiences that invite audience submission of — any content that:

3.1 Is Illegal

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation in the United Kingdom or the jurisdiction where the content is published or displayed;
  • Constitutes, promotes, or facilitates any criminal offence, including fraud, money laundering, or tax evasion;
  • Infringes any intellectual property right, including copyright, trade marks, design rights, or database rights;
  • Breaches any duty of confidence or third-party contractual obligation.

3.2 Is Harmful or Offensive

  • Is defamatory of any person or entity;
  • Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit, including any content sexualising minors (CSAM) — this is strictly prohibited and will be reported to relevant authorities;
  • Promotes, glorifies, or facilitates violence, terrorism, or self-harm;
  • Contains hateful material targeting individuals or groups on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
  • Is designed to cause distress, alarm, or harassment to any person;
  • Contains graphic depictions of real-world violence or gore.

3.3 Is Misleading or Reputationally Damaging

  • Impersonates any real person, organisation, or brand in a way that is misleading or deceptive;
  • Presents false statements of fact about any person, company, or product;
  • Is designed to damage the commercial reputation of Volta or any third party;
  • Uses Volta branding, trademarks, or the names of partner organisations in unauthorised ways;
  • Makes claims about Volta's services, capabilities, or pricing that are false or not authorised by Volta.

3.4 Violates Privacy

  • Discloses personal data about identifiable individuals without their consent, including home addresses, phone numbers, financial information, medical information, or private correspondence;
  • Contains images of identifiable individuals taken without their consent, or used in a context they did not consent to;
  • Is designed to harvest, collect, or expose personal data from audience members without proper disclosure and consent.

3.5 Disrupts the Platform

  • Intentionally attempts to overload, crash, or disrupt the Platform or its infrastructure;
  • Contains malicious code, viruses, or exploits;
  • Attempts to circumvent moderation systems or rate limits;
  • Accesses any part of the Platform infrastructure other than through the intended interfaces.

4. Audience-Submitted Content

When you enable templates that accept audience input (text, images, or other media), you take on additional responsibilities:

  • You acknowledge that your audience may submit content that violates this AUP, regardless of automated moderation measures in place;
  • You are responsible for the context and framing of your experience design, and for taking reasonable steps to deter prohibited submissions (e.g. clear instructions, restricting access);
  • You must be capable of managing or suspending your live experience if prohibited content is submitted and displayed;
  • You must not design an experience whose purpose or likely effect is to elicit prohibited content from audiences.

5. Content Moderation

The Platform uses automated content moderation tools (currently provided by Stream.io and Cloudinary) to screen user-generated content. These tools screen for certain categories of prohibited content before or after publication.

Important: Automated moderation is provided on a best-efforts basis only. It is not, and cannot be assumed to be, 100% accurate or comprehensive. It may fail to catch prohibited content, or may incorrectly flag permitted content. The existence of automated moderation does not relieve you of your responsibility for content published through your experiences.

Volta reserves the right to review, remove, or restrict any content at its sole discretion and without prior notice. Volta has no obligation to monitor content and the exercise of any moderation action does not imply an obligation to take further action.

6. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content on the Platform that you believe violates this AUP, please report it to: trust@volta-xr.com

Please include:

  • A description of the content and where you encountered it;
  • Why you believe it violates this AUP;
  • Your contact details (optional, but helpful for follow-up).

We will investigate reports and take action where appropriate. We cannot guarantee a response to every report or commit to a specific resolution timeline, but we take all reports seriously.

7. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in any or all of the following, at Volta's sole discretion:

  • Removal of the offending content;
  • Temporary suspension of your access;
  • Permanent termination of your account;
  • Referral to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law or where Volta believes a crime has been committed;
  • Legal action to recover damages suffered by Volta as a result of the violation.

Volta is not obligated to provide warnings before taking enforcement action, particularly where the violation is severe or involves illegal content.
